Financial Cash Flows Examples

This calculator focuses on financial cash flow calculations for

The List Manager can be used to add, edit, delete or change the order of the cash flows.

If using the Cash Flows PYR calculator, set PYR = 1 for these examples.

If entering monthly cash flows, store 12 for PYR to calculate annual rates.

IRR Example

Calculate the IRR for the following cash flow:

Year Cash Flow
0 -4000
1 1200
2 1410
3 1875
4 1050

Note that older versions of this calculator require you to tap = before CF0 in ALG mode. Please Download the current version of this calculator.

  shift + clr f   Clears the financial list. Also the i% and rr values for NPV and MIRR.
-4000 CF0 -4,000.00 Stores the CF0 value.
1200 CFj 1,200.00 Stores the CFj value.
1410 CFj 1,410.00 Stores the CFj value.
1875 CFj 1,875.00 Stores the CFj value.
1050 CFj 1,050.00 Stores the CFj value.
  IRR 14.30 Calculates the IRR

NPV, NFV Example

Calculate the NPV and NFV for the cash flow from the previous example for a rate of 10%.
NFV requires the Cash Flows PYR calculator.

10 STO i% 10.00 Stores the periodic rate.
1 STO P/YR 1.00 Stores the payments per year. (Cash Flows PYR Calculator only)
  NPV 382.08 Calculates the NPV.
  NFV 559.40 Calculates the NFV. (Cash Flows PYR Calculator)

If using PYR, store this as an annual rate.

MIRR Example

Calculate the MIRR for the following cash flow:

Calculate the MIRR for the following cash flow:

Note that you only need to enter the frequency of grouped cash flows as needed.
