Create Keys Buttons
There are "Create Key" buttons on the History Details, Currency and UOM Conversions Form Calculator.
To Create a Key from an ALG Calculation Mode Expression
The video, Create Key, demonstrates the process.
You can create a key from any ALG calculation mode expression. Expressions that use rgx and or rgy work best. For expressions that have more than 1 or 2 parameters, consider Creating a Function Calculator.
Keys created in ALG mode can be used in RPN or CHN calculation modes.
- Choose the ALG calculation mode in Options.
- Then choose a calculator that has the functions you will need. Most of the time you will only need the common operators found on any calculator. But if you need functions like trigonometric or log functions, make sure the calculator has these functions.
- Enter an expression that uses rgx and/or rgy. You may want to try the expression with different values using the "K" mode for ALG mode.
- Navigate to the History item for the expression. Tap the "Create Key" button. An alert will be displayed to enter a label for the key and hint.
To Create a Key from a Conversion Calculator
- Creating a key from a conversion calculator gives you a "1-tap" conversion for those conversion you use frequently.
- From either the Currency or UOM Conversion Calculators select the conversion you want.
- Tap the "Create Key" button.
After the Key Has Been Created
- Select the calculator for your new key.
- Use the "right swipe" gesture on the key you want to use and then select the "Paste" option.
If the Paste option is not available, you probably have a "read only" calculator selected. Choose a calculator with an (*) before it's name in the calculator list.
You can also paste the key using the Key Editor from the Focused Calculator Editor. The Key Editor allows you to further customize any key.
