Game Details

The Game Details screen contains the descriptive information normally written at the top of a paper scoresheet. This information is included when exporting or sharing a game as PGN.

Event information

Event
The name of the tournament or match (for example, “Club Championship”).

Site
The location of the event. This field is optional.

Date
Defaults to the date the game is created. Tap the date to change it.

Round
The round number of the event. Use the − and + buttons to adjust the value.

Result

Select the game result using the result buttons:
1-0 (White won), 0-1 (Black won), ½-½ (Draw), or * (Result unknown or not yet entered).

Players

White / Black
Enter player names directly, or tap the + button to select names from your contacts.

When entering player names, entering your opponent’s name first will automatically fill in your own name using the value from Setup.

Rating
Optional rating fields for each player.

Additional information

Note
Optional text for additional details such as board number or time control. Notes are included in printed scoresheets and email output, but not in PGN files.

Notation display

Display Notation
Shows the algebraic notation for the game. On iPad, the notation can be displayed alongside the board while entering moves.

Actions

Next Game of Event
Creates a new game using the same event name and increments the round number. This is a convenient shortcut for multi-round tournaments.

Email Game
Composes an email containing the game notation and an attached PGN file. HTML email includes the currently selected board position.

Enter Moves
Opens the move entry screen. On iPad, the game is already loaded and this button may not be shown.

Delete
Deletes the current game after confirmation.

Share (Action button)
The Share button opens the standard iOS share sheet, allowing the game to be exported in multiple formats. See Export & Sharing.
